The problem
Delta and Parat, two of Norway’s leading labour unions, wanted to improve communication between union representatives and members, and give members one convenient place to access all their benefits.
What I built
Because the two unions had closely aligned needs, we made a strategic decision to share one codebase and brand it per union. Flutter made it possible to ship iOS and Android apps for both from the same source, which kept development cost down and the experience unified.
- One codebase, two apps. Delta and Parat are the same app with different themes and different backends. A theme layer handles colours, logos and copy, and the backend is swapped per build.
- Firebase backend with cloud functions in TypeScript.
- BankID login for secure Norwegian identity verification.
- Member features: contact your union representative, your collective agreement, useful information, member benefits and a direct dialogue with the union.
Delivered over eighteen months while I was at Bouvet.
