Interactive HMI Simulator
A simulated operator interface that let platform crews train on a new control system before it existed, without extra hardware or licences.

- 0extra hardware needed
- New productfor the company to sell
The problem
A control system was being delivered for installation on an oil platform. The customer wanted operators to get familiar with it before it went live, which normally means buying additional hardware and expensive software licences.
What I built
I proposed a different route: an interactive user interface that simulates the final product. Operators could learn the new system on an ordinary computer, with the simulator responding the way the real system would.
- Faithful UI built in Flutter, mirroring the real operator screens.
- Simulated process in Python driving realistic values and responses.
- Significant cost savings for the customer, and a new product the company now offers to other projects.
