GeoCompass

A geography game where you fly from city to city and learn where the world's places really are, not just what they're called.

Screenshot of GeoCompass
  • 3,600+cities and places
  • 150+country maps
  • 9languages

The idea

Is Cairo north of Tokyo? Which way is Lima? GeoCompass teaches you where places are, not just their names. You start in a city, the next stop appears, and you have to work out where it is. Answer, and a little plane flies you there.

Two ways to play

  • North or south? The easy mode: is the next place north or south of where you are? Good for younger kids and quick rounds.
  • Compass. The hard mode: drag on the map to turn the compass needle towards the next place. A perfect bearing scores 100 points, and anything 90° or more off scores nothing.

The whole world

Play on the world map, on a single continent, or inside one country. More than 150 countries have a map of their own, from Brazil and India down to Slovenia and Fiji, and every map keeps its own high score.

The map shows coastlines and borders but no names, so you can’t just read the answer. After every round you see where the place really is and how far off you were.
